Georgie Simmons is raising money for Morpeth Group Riding For The Disabled

Great North Run 2025 · 7 September 2025 ·

Morpeth Group RDA is a charity dedicated to improving the lives of thousands of children and adults with both developmental and physical disabilities. Our horses and ponies provide therapy, achievement and enjoyment to over 100 riders every week.

Story

I’m taking on the Great North Run 2025 next weekend for Morpeth Riding for the Disabled (RDA) and this is a huge challenge for me. I’m not a runner, and the training has been incredibly tough, but I know that every mile I push through is nothing compared to the challenges many of our riders face every single day. That thought will be what carries me to the finish line.

RDA harnesses the power of horses to transform lives – supporting disabled people with innovative programmes that build confidence, improve physical health, and boost well-being. The difference it makes is truly inspiring.

On a personal level, RDA has become a really important part of my life. My weekly volunteering sessions give me the chance to meet incredible people, be part of a warm and supportive community, and see first-hand the life-changing impact horses can have.

Morpeth RDA relies entirely on fundraising and donations, so every pound raised will go directly towards creating the best possible experiences for our riders. If you can support me, you’ll be helping to make a real difference.

Thank you so much 💙🐴
