Georgie's elbow operation

Springer Rescue for Scotland rescues and rehomes Springer Spaniels across Scotland. All dogs in their care are fostered in family homes, vet-checked, vaccinated and microchipped and any other necessary veterinary treatment. Ongoing veterinary support is often provided for elderly or infirm dogs.

Story

Georgie is a 7 month old Springer who came into SRS a month ago. His foster carer was concerned by an intermittent limp and the vet referred him to an orthopaedic specialist vet. As suspected the CT scan showed IOHC fissures which require screws to be implanted in the elbows to prevent fractures. This is sadly a hereditary condition in Spaniels and some of you will be aware of SRS Loki who badly fractured his front leg and required amputation and a screw because of the same condition. The CT and operation are estimated to cost in excess of £3000 so we're hoping to fundraise to cover the costs.

We appreciate that times are hard and we've just done a fundraiser for Bella's eye operation, but we never want to be in a position that we can't help these young dogs live a happy and fulfilling life in their new homes with lifetime support from SRS, and for that we need your help.
