Story
As a Dance Movement Psychotherapist at Look Ahead, I have the privilege of working alongside people from many different backgrounds who are facing significant challenges, including mental health needs, learning disabilities, autism, homelessness, and the lasting impact of trauma and social isolation.
Every day, I see the difference that the right support and opportunities can make. Something as simple as taking part in a wellbeing activity, spending time outdoors, moving your body, learning a new skill, or connecting with others can have a profound impact on someone's confidence, independence, physical health, and mental wellbeing. Unfortunately, these opportunities are often out of reach for many of the people we support.
That's why this October I'll be joining Team Look Ahead to run the Royal Parks Half Marathon. Running 13.1 miles through London's beautiful Royal Parks will be a challenge, but it's nothing compared to the barriers many of our customers overcome every day.
The money raised will help fund accessible health and wellbeing activities for people experiencing some of the greatest health inequalities in our communities. These activities can reduce isolation, improve physical and mental health, build resilience, and help people feel more connected to their local communities.
As someone who sees first-hand the impact these opportunities have, I know that every donation will make a real difference.
Whether you can give a little or a lot, your support will help create life-changing opportunities for people to be healthier, happier, and more connected.
I believe in the power of movement, connection, and community to transform lives. Thank you for helping us make these opportunities accessible to more people. ❤️
Every mile matters. Every donation makes a difference.
