I'm running two 10ks this year to support York Carers.

I'm a mum of 3 boys. Stan, my eldest was diagnosed with autism when he was 4. I don't think of myself as a carer because I'm a mum but the reality is that it's hard and there's probably not a day that goes by that I don't worry about him. I'm lucky because I have lots of support from those close to me.

If life was different, if I was younger, if was alone, if I didn't have a job then I don't know what I'd do. That's why we need charities like York Carers. For people who are just doing the right thing for their families but need the help that the rest of us take for granted.
