Story
I am taking part in the Thames Hospice Open Water Swim Challenge. Whilst this event will challenge me, I know what a difference the money will make to those patients and families who are facing the most difficult of challenges.
💚 £12 could pay for a patient’s medication for a day
💚 £25 could pay for an assisted bath helping a patient to relax
💚 £57 could pay for a bereavement call to support a family member
Thames Hospice are here to ensure that patients and their families are cared for with the utmost compassion, dignity and respect. Funds raised from my swim will ensure that Thames Hospice can continue to provide care to those in the local community.
As many of you know, I'm a keen open water swimmer, but I've always just swum about chatting to my friends! I'm now training to swim 2km as part of the 10km team challenge. To get me through this I will be swimming for various people in my family who have needed care at the end of their lives. Having care, such as that provided by Thames Hospice, gives people dignity and peace and allows families to focus on the most important job of being with their loved one.
