SolarAid has a vision of a world where everyone has access to clean, renewable, energy.

590 million people across sub-Saharan Africa live without electricity. When the sun goes down, the working day ends for millions of people. For millions of others the only option is to ignite kerosene lamps and paraffin candles, which emit toxic fumes into the Earth's atmosphere. But with the flick of a switch, we can change that story. Every solar light in someone's hand is an instant win for people and the planet.

On Saturday the 20th of July, I will be doing a skydive over Kent to raise money for SolarAid. If you know me, you'll know that I am terrified of heights, and even looking over a first floor balcony gets my heart racing! Every donation made will be matched by my employer, the Wellcome Trust, so any donation you make, SolarAid will receive twice as much, and therefore no donation is too small! Thank you :)
