Story
Sometimes it’s hard to wear a smile. Mental health can be a daily battle. I know from my own experience and from that of family members and friends. And it’s been a long journey to make myself talk to someone about it. But I can wear a smile knowing I’m not on my own and I have people around me who love and accept me however I feel.
So, in October I’m giving something back by taking a step out of my comfort zone - taking part in the Firewalk to raise some money for the Mental Health Foundation. Not only will it help the charity, but it will also help me (my self confidence and self worth) by achieving something out of the ordinary.
Depression and anxiety do not define me, but are part of who I am. I am grateful for all the sources of help and support that are out there.
The Mental Health Foundation is the UKs charity for everyones mental health.
With prevention at the heart of what they do, the Mental Health Foundation aim to find and address the sources of mental health problems so that people and communities can thrive.
