Walking The Camino de Santiago Β· 29 August 2023

We assist in the care of children and young people with Down syndrome through the provisions of support, training, advice and relief to those who are responsible for their care and to professionals with the aim of improving the education and health of children and young people with Down syndrome.

Story

So one week today,I shall be arriving in Los Arcos to continue my Camino. My feet are stronger and healthier, and despite losing toenails on both feet I’m confident they will do me proud.!!πŸ’œπŸ™πŸ˜‚

To everyone out there who has donated to my just giving page already, thank you so very much. To those of you who have not yet donated please consider giving something no matter how small. I’m grateful for every penny and Bradford Down Syndrome training and supports service definitely is.

So god willing ( and feet ) I will complete my journey. Thank you all again for support, donations, prayers and positive thoughts. Also , for Finn , my inspiration and my heart xxxπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

Only 400 miles to go.!!!!!πŸ˜‚

I am walking the Camino de Santiago which is a pilrimage of just under 500 miles from Saint Jean Pied de Port in France to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. I am planning to start the walk on Sunday 30th April 2023. It will take me 4 to 6 weeks to complete. Like a true pilgrim i will be carrying my own rucksack and staying in hostels on the way.

I have always wanted to do this walk and now I am 60 I thought it was about time I did it.

I am doing this walk for my son Finn who has Down Syndrome. He is 21 and an inspiration in my life. I will be thinking of him every step of the way. I will be thinking of many people.

I want to raise money for the local Down Syndrome Training and Support Services Ltd

https://www.downsyndromebradford.com

This is a wonderful Bradford based charity that provides amazing support for People with Down Syndrome and their families from birth and into adulthood. It has helped us so much as a family over the last 21 years

What ever you choose to give no matter the amount it will be appreciated.

Thanking you for your support. Wish me luck !

β€˜ We who have two legs can easily practice walking meditation. We must not forget to be grateful. We walk for ourselves, and we walk for those who cannot walk. We walk for all living beings- past, present and future β€˜ Thich Nhat HanhΒ
