The GGC Charity Pro-Am in aid of Ardgowan hospice and in memory of Irene Watters

In November last year Irene lost a well - fought battle with cancer, for the last weeks of her life she was cared for by the excellent team of staff and volunteers at Ardgowan Hospice, Greenock.

Throughout this time and still to this day the family are able to access support through regular check-ins and the offer of counselling was there right from the start. They really do go above and beyond to make sure we are all okay.

For many years Irene had volunteered at the hospice herself helping with various activities and introducing new ides to help people and it is somewhere she always cared about and supported.

Derek her youngest son and the Head Professional at Gourock Golf Club has organised a charity Pro-Am in aid of the hospice with the help of Gourock Golf Club, the family and The PGA in Scotland.

On the 6th of September approximately 100 golfers including 25 Professionals from across Scotland will take to the course at Gourock to compete and all the money will go to the charity.

There will be auction and raffle competitions available to enter through the pro shop and the secretary and further info on this can be accessed on Derek's Facebook/Twitter.
