Good games, good causes

"Good Game VR" is Hasting's unique virtual reality charity tournament where local businesses and organisations compete in virtual reality based games to raise money for local charities.

For this run of Good Game VR, five pubs from Hastings will battle it out for glory and for a good cause: raising money for the Refugee Buddy Project.

About the Refugee Buddy Project

The Refugee Buddy Project works with people seeking refuge to help them thrive in their new lives. The project opened in 2017 as a community group welcoming people seeking refuge who had recently arrived in Hastings. The project is now a refugee & migrant-led charity supporting families and individuals from refugee backgrounds with the charity’s buddy programme, advocacy, and financial & emotional support.

All donations raised from this event will go to the Refugee Buddy Project.

The tournament game

Good Game VR is hosted by Bandit Battles VR, an independent attraction inside of Hasting’s indoor adventure park, O.W.E.N.S.

Tournament competitors will put their blaster-slinging skills to the test in Bandit Battles VR’s wild west, reality-bending shoot’em up. Players will have to duck, draw and zap their way to victory as they compete across three increasingly mindboggling arenas.

The tournament will take place from 6pm-8pm on Wednesday 12 April 2023 at O.W.E.N.S. Entry to the event is free and a raffle will be held on the night with a number of prizes.
