Story
For me, this ride is about much more than cycling from the UK to Italy. It’s about challenging myself, rediscovering my identity, embracing the adventure, and using the journey to support a cause that means a great deal to me.
Mental health challenges can happen to anyone. Like many people, I’ve seen how mental health can shape lives in ways that aren’t always visible and are life changing. I’ve witnessed the strength it takes to keep moving forward through difficult times, and the incredible difference that the right support can make. That’s why I’ve chosen to raise money for Maudsley Charity, whose work helps improve mental health care, research, and recovery for so many people.
Over the next coming weeks there will almost certainly be moments when I’m questioning why I thought cycling this far was a good idea. There will be headwinds, sore legs, hills, bug bites, wrong turns, and probably more couscous and canned fish than any one person should eat. But every mile has a purpose, and knowing this ride is helping support better mental health care will keep me pedalling.
If you’re able to donate, no matter the amount, I’d be incredibly grateful. If donating isn’t possible, sharing this page or following along with the journey is just as appreciated.
Thank you for being part of the ride. Your support means more than you know.
