At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

I’m running the Hackney Half marathon to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society in memory of my Grandie, Roger Clarke

Roger loved all things outdoors, sporty and fun, and he probably would have done a marathon too if it weren’t for his knees! An avid supporter on the rugby sideline, taking my brother and I to Wet ‘n’ Wild swimming and giving back to the community wherever he could, Roger was the best grandad we could have ever asked for. My family lost Roger to a long and devastating battle with Alzheimer’s in 2015, and we all still miss him every day.

Alzheimer’s Society works towards making a world where dementia no longer destroys the lives of those who have the disease, and the family members who suffer in silence alongside.

Join me in helping to rid the world of this awful disease.

For you, Grandie x
