Alfie Nicholas was a bright, energetic young man with a huge heart and an unstoppable love for life. Tragically, he was taken too soon, but his spirit lives on through the Alfie Nick Foundation, supporting young people facing adversity and mental health struggles.

At Gibe Digital, Alfie’s story has touched us deeply, and for 2025, we’re dedicating our fundraising efforts to his foundation. We’re stepping up, pushing ourselves, and coming together as a team to run, raise, and remember—to honour Alfie and help create opportunities for young people who need it most.

Our Goal: Beat our previous fundraising record (£1,070) and make a bigger impact than ever.

The Challenge: We’re taking on a series of fundraising events, with some epic incentives (and hilarious forfeits) along the way.

- Friday 7th March: The Harbour Run: Kicking things off, we’re running through Bristol to raise awareness, decked out in Alfie Nick Foundation colours, making noise for a cause that truly matters.

- Sunday 11th May: Great Bristol Run: Some of the Gibe team will go the whole hog with the half marathon and some have signed up for the 10k! Either way, it's no walk in the park. Those who partake get entered into a prize draw to be able to win a seat at the Alfie Nick Launch Party on Friday 16th May at The Celtic Manor Resort.

- July: During July we are going to work together as one team to move a total distance of 1500km (increasing our distance from 1000km last July). We will walk, cycle, row, swim, hop, skip, dance, shimmy, ski, crawl our way into success and help raise awareness and money for this great cause.

- Sunday 7th September: Because one half marathon a year is just not enough, our Senior QA Engineer, Sophie, will be taking part in the Westonbirt Arboretum Half later this year! It's set to be a beautiful route passing over 2,500 different species of tree.
