Gig for Ronald McDonald House · 28 April 2024

Crossbasket House gives families a place to stay while their child is seriously ill in hospital in Glasgow. Children come from all over Scotland and further afield to receive treatment at the children's hospital in Glasgow.

Story

This cause has great personal significance for two of the acts involved. DC Thomas (David Callander) spent almost two months in Ronald McDonald house to stay close to his daughter, who had been born at 24 weeks gestation, as she required major surgery. Jack McLuckie's family also spent some time at the House following the birth of Jack's younger brother.

Ronald McDonald House Glasgow is a small independent Scottish charity (SC023199) that provides free ‘home away from home’ accommodation for families with seriously ill children in hospital. The House costs in the region of £940,000 per year to run, helping c.500 families each year from across Scotland and further afield. The house has all the amenities you would find at home, enabling families to rest and recuperate in a safe haven, very close to their child in hospital.
