Gigi's fundraiser for The Wren Project

2025 Saucony London 10k · 13 July 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
Hi, thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I'm Gigi, and I’ve been living with Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease (UCTD) for almost five years. Being diagnosed with UCTD changed my life completely. I was told I could no longer do the things I love—like running or playing field hockey—and that I’d have to stick to low-impact activities to avoid triggering flare-ups.
Over time, I’ve learned to listen to my body, and although it’s still a challenge, I can now do everything I enjoy and more. It takes twice the effort, and there are frustrating moments, but I’m grateful to be able to continue living my life.
One thing I’ve learned through this journey is how isolating chronic illness can feel, especially when it’s hard to find people who truly understand what you’re going through. That’s why I’m so appreciative of organizations like The Wren Project, which offers support and understanding to people facing these challenges. While I haven’t personally needed their support, I know how essential their work is in creating a space where people can connect, share, and find the support they need.
That’s why I’m raising money for the Wren Project—so they can continue providing this invaluable support to those who need it most. Over the next few months, I’ll be training for the Saucony 10K, and I’ll be sharing updates along the way. Every donation will go directly to the Wren Project, helping them to keep offering this critical support to those who are struggling.
Thank you so much for your generosity and for helping make this possible!
The Saucony London 10K takes place on Sunday July, 13, 2025, with an iconic route that will take you past key London landmarks such as Westminster Bridge, The London Eye, Regent Street, Piccadilly Circus and Big Ben.
The Wren Project is a charity dedicated to providing support to people living with autoimmune diseases. It exists to bridge the gap between a life-changing autoimmune disease diagnosis and access to mental health support. They offer a space where individuals can connect with others who understand their experiences, providing emotional support, advice, and practical help.
UCTD is an autoimmune condition where the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks its own tissues, leading to inflammation in various parts of the body.
