Story
THE GILBEY-KILBY VERTICAL PANIC PROJECT
This August, Harriet Kilby and Lotty Gilbey will be taking on Mount Kilimanjaro, the worlds highest free-standing mountain, to raise money for Alzheimer's Society.
Over 8 days, starting on the 11th August, we will be hiking the Lemosho Route, with long days of hiking at altitude, before an intense overnight summit push lasting up to 13 hours, to reach 5,895 metres, the highest point in Africa.
We will be hiking through a range of climates, starting in 30°C heat, trekking through rainforests, heath and moorland and Alpine desert, before reaching the summit where temperatures are likely to fall to -17°C.
We would be incredibly grateful If you would support our quarter-life crises while we battle heatstroke, frostbite, self-doubt, sleeping bags, mosquitoes and an on-going questioning of sanity.
Alzheimer’s Society provides essential support for people living with dementia, funds life-changing research, and helps families through some of the most difficult moments they will ever face. Dementia affects so many lives, and the need for support and understanding has never been greater.
By supporting this challenge, you’re helping Alzheimer’s Society continue their vital work. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a real difference.
Thank you so much for your support 💛
