Story
Inspired by Team Chazza, I decided this year to take part in the London Marathon, in memory of my cousin Charlie.
Like so many families, we have lost friends and family members to cancer in recent years, including Charlie. As many people know, once Charlie was diagnosed with Sarcoma, he was determined to make a difference, right down to running the London Marathon in 2022 with his brother Jeremy, despite being in considerable pain, and raising a significant amount of money in the process.
Charlie’s family decided to honour his legacy by continuing to support Sarcoma UK with an ongoing committment to raise funds through Team Chazza and the Charlie Hunt Cancer Research Fund.
Sarcoma UK is the only charity in the UK focussing on all types of sarcoma and aims to increase knowledge and awareness of sarcoma. Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. Sarcoma UK supports people like Charlie on their gruelling journey with sarcoma, offering counselling and invaluable help and advice as well as funding essential research.
I would be enormously grateful if you could show your support by sponsoring me to do the Marathon and consequently enabling the essential work that Sarcoma UK is doing. Thank-you in advance, as it means so much to all of us participating and to Sarcoma UK. If you’re able to come and watch, look out for the blue tutus! I won’t be anywhere near the leaders, but will be down the back nervously looking over my shoulder for the sag wagon coming up behind me!
