Giles's fundraiser for SSNAP

Giles Tennick is raising money for SSNAP
In memory of Martin Realey

Gloucester Half 2026 · 22 March 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

While your baby has specialist treatment at the John Radcliffe Hospital, we provide vital support to families. We also fund equipment for the unit, invest in training for NHS staff, run Little SSNAPlings and support research projects. We stand by families every step of the way.

Story

This charity was extremely dear to my army colleague, Martin Realey who sadly passed away last year. He used to run these events with a washing machine on his back, and I intend to honour him by carrying his washing machine for the Gloucester Half Marathon in March 2026. This is where your money will go to:

Imagine your newborn baby needing specialist care at birth. Instead of those very special days getting to know your baby as a family, you’re catapulted into an unfamiliar world of incubators, wires, alarms, medical tests and urgent interventions — a journey no parent is ever prepared for.

While your baby has specialist treatment at the John Radcliffe Hospital, SSNAP provide vital support to families. We also fund equipment for the unit, invest in training for NHS staff, run Little SSNAPlings and support research projects.
