50 Years of Life, 7 Marathons, 1 Cause.

Giles Ashton-Roberts is raising money for Motor Neurone Disease Association

Complete 7 Marathons in 2026

Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

Story

Most people slow down at 50. I’m choosing to speed up. To mark this milestone, I’m running 7 marathons in 12 months.

For almost ten years, my mum has been living with the devastating effects of motor neurone disease (MND). It’s a condition that can take away the ability to move and communicate, and there is currently no cure. It’s taught me not to take a single step for granted. I’m running because my mum can’t.

I’m turning my 50th year into momentum towards a cure. My 7-marathon challenge began in Mumbai on 18th January and ends in Mumbai on 17th January:

18 January: Tata Mumbai Marathon X

Paris Marathon: 12 Arril✅

Boston Marathon: 20 April✅

TCS London Marathon: 26 April

TCS Sydney Marathon: 30 August

Chicago Marathon: October 11

TCS New York Marathon: 1 November

Tata Mumbai Marathon: 17 January:

It’ll be tough, there will be pain and exhaustion, but for me that will be temporary, the need to defeat MND is permanent.

If you can, please donate. Every donation helps fund research, improve care, support families, and bring us closer to a world without MND. Thank you.
