Memorial bike ride · 23 July 2023

It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.

Story

Thanks so much for thinking of donating in memory of Giles Boardman.

This page is for two events, firstly Ross Boardman and close friend Richard Turley will be cycling over 560km (350 miles) from Edinburgh to Hereford aiming to arrive in time for the group ride and picnic.

Sunday the 23rd of July. Please join us for a ride and picnic to celebrate his life meeting at the Elgar statue at Hereford Cathedral for an 11am roll out. The ride will take mostly quiet lanes and be around 35km long. We'll share the route the week before as it's still being finalised. We'll stop at Kilpeck church (arriving around 12.30) for a picnic where non cyclists can join us and also go for a walk if they fancy it. If you'd like to share some stories of Giles then there’ll also be a chance to do this.

Here’s a bit more about the work pancreatic cancer do:

It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer die within 3 months. Survival rates have improved enormously for most cancers, yet for pancreatic cancer, this is not the case.

Pancreatic Cancer UK is dedicated to taking on this injustice using every possible means. They're supporting people with pancreatic cancer now, campaigning, and funding vital research to transform the future. Help them to make the breakthroughs that people with pancreatic cancer so desperately need.
