Story
In the next two weeks, I will be embarking on an incredible journey that combines personal accomplishment with a noble cause: raising funds for Alzheimer's research.
Alzheimer's is a devastating disease that affects millions of people worldwide. It robs individuals of their memories, independence, and ultimately, their lives. Witnessing the impact of Alzheimer's on loved ones in my family and those I walk with inspired me to take action and make a difference. That's why I have decided to complete the remarkable 11-year challenge of walking from Lands End to John O'Groats, with my final 147-mile leg from Inverness to the finish line at John O'Groats.
I am reaching out to you today to ask for your support. By contributing to this fundraising campaign, you have the opportunity to be a part of cutting-edge research and initiatives aimed at preventing, treating, and eventually finding a cure for Alzheimer's. Your generous donation will directly impact the lives of those affected by this cruel disease, bringing hope, comfort, and progress in the fight against it.
Every step I take during this challenging journey is symbolic of the relentless effort it takes to combat Alzheimer's. But I cannot do it alone. Your support is invaluable, and together, we can make a significant impact. Here's how you can contribute
Online Donation: You can securely donate any amount you feel comfortable with. Every penny brings us one step closer to eradicating Alzheimer's.
Spread the Word: Share this email with your friends, family, and colleagues who may also be interested in contributing to this cause. The more people we reach, the greater our collective impact will be.
Personal Involvement: If you have any ideas or resources that could help promote my fundraising efforts, please don't hesitate to reach out. Collaboration and community engagement are essential in achieving our goals.
By supporting this campaign, you are not only contributing to the funding of critical research but also becoming an advocate for those affected by Alzheimer's. Your compassion and generosity will inspire others to take action and rally around this cause, bringing us closer to a world without Alzheimer's.
I will be updating my progress and sharing the highlights of my journey on social media, so please follow me on Facebook and LinkedIn to stay connected and witness firsthand the impact of your support.
I would also like to thank those who are walking with me this year: Sarah Hancock, Gina Rowe, Justine Walley, Cheryl Marshall, Ali Ring and Richard Marchant as well as those who wish they could cross the line with us but can’t: Gill Gill, Simon Hancock, Suzanne Bangert. Jen Thomas, Sarah Vey, Kara Lucas, Janice Firth, Mik and Jacquie Webb. Last but not least, the woman who made it possible for many years but sadly is no longer able to be my driver, my mum, Jackie Thomas aka the Nana, a legend!
Thank you for taking the time to read this email and for considering joining me on this mission to end Alzheimer's. Together, we can make a lasting difference in the lives of millions.
