Children and adults with Down’s syndrome are all unique individuals with their own personalities, family backgrounds and preferences that make them who they are. We aim to create the conditions that all people with Down’s syndrome need to live full and rewarding lives.

Story

I am hosting a Concert & Cake celebration and cycling Ireland End to End to raise funds for WorkFit supporting the Down’s Syndrome Association.

WorkFit is the Down’s Syndrome Association’s highly successful employment programme which engages with a range of employers to support candidates who have Down’s Syndrome into a variety of jobs. The WorkFit programme supports anyone who has Down’s Syndrome and who wants to work. 92% of people in paid work developed by WorkFit have retained their jobs.

Sarah is my niece and was born with Down’s Syndrome nearly 40 years ago. She was able to get a job with GXO Logistics in 2020 with excellent support and guidance from WorkFit. It has enabled her to be more financially and socially independent and has definitely changed her life. She continues to get support from WorkFit and GXO which is why we are fundraising.
