Support #TeamLAS in running the iconic London Landmarks Half Marathon 2026 to support the London Ambulance Charity in it's vision to save even more lives in London.

Story

In April 2026, I will be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon for the London Ambulance Charity.

Two years ago I wanted to get my running mojo back so I joined a beginners group with my local running club couch to 5K which culminated in running Parkrun. Two years later I have now been consistently running. So this year I have decided to step-up and run the London Landmarks half marathon. I am lucky enough to have obtained a charity place through the London Ambulance Charity. Working for LAS I am aware of all the good work the charity does. This includes training over 10,000 Londoners in Life-saving CPR skills and providing staff and volunteers wellbeing support through initiatives such as wellbeing cafe's and vehicles.

*** Update 15th March

4 weeks to go and this weeks long run was 1hr 55 taking a run around Mk central station with a picture of the artwork, then run home through teardrops lakes, then through the bowl car park over to Furzton lake and then the uphill back home. Next weeks long run is the last long one of 2hrs, then the following two weeks will be cutback in terms of mileage. Vest and number has also arrived this week so getting exciting 😊

*** Update 24th February

The last couple of weekends there have been long runs of 1hr 30 in pouring rain, wind, hail and sleet and this weekend 1hr 45 in bright sunshine with an icy wind, so typical for this time of year. This weekend will be a step-down in terms of mileage but it is a 10k Race. As there is no 10k races this weekend the plan is to run my local parkrun route backwards and then forward, as it will give me a nice easy 10k route to follow. If anyone wants to see my progress in training my Strava link is on the right of the page. Btw that kilometres its showing is how far I’ve run since the 18th Jan when I set up this page - not bad for someone with a big birthday this year!!

*** Update 8th February

On Sunday 8th Feb, as part of my training I ran the Cattle Creep a Little Further race which is a 10 mile run through scenic parks in Milton Keynes, the route goes past windmills, Roman ruins, the infamous concrete cows, and a large section towards the end runs down the side of the Grand Union Canal, culminating in going through the Cattle Creep which is a low narrow passage that goes under the canal (even I need to duck). Unfortunately, this year due to the rain we didn’t get to run through it as it was flooded on one end. Some picture in the gallery which show how muddy it was, but great fun.

Thank you so much in advance for donating whatever you can, it really will make a massive difference.
