FCA NI Fundraiser For Madlug Foundation - Marathon Relay

Gillian Lynas is raising money for Madlug Foundation

Team: Team fundraising for Madlug Foundation

Belfast City Marathon · 3 May 2026 ·

We are the registered charity at the heart of the Madlug™ movement. With one aim to see children and young people in care experience #ValueWorthDignity

Story

Every year FCA NI chooses a charity or worthy cause to support. This year we would like to support the Madlug Foundation.

Every child that comes to live with one of our FCA foster families gets a memory box and in that memory box will be a Madlug bag. I think this is an amazing charity that helps support our children and young people, it's the little things that can mean so much.

The Madlug foundation, is dedicated to helping children in care move with dignity. It's primary mission is to support children and young people in care by providing durable, pack-away travel bags so they do not have to carry their belongings in bin bags, promoting dignity and self-worth.

The Madlug Movement

Madlug was founded in 2015 by Dave Linton. He was heartbroken when he learned that most children in care have their belongings moved in a bin bag.

In that moment, Dave set out to do something about it and came up with our ‘Buy one, Wear one, Help one’ approach. With every bag you buy, a pack-away travel bag goes to a child in care.

FCA NI we will be organising events to raise funds for this incredible charity and we would really appreciate you getting behind our runners and supporting this worthy cause.
