We’re saving to buy a second SCOUT machine for New Cross Hospital Breast Care Team. This machine places a chip the size of the top of a straight pin next to a breast tumour to mark it for the breast surgeons. This can be done well before surgery, making a patient’s day shorter. Previously tumours had to be marked on the day of surgery.

If you (or someone you know) had breast surgery at New Cross Hospital in the past couple of years it’s highly likely that this SCOUT machine was used
