In September I will be taking on the Royal Marines Commando Endurance Course and Bottom Field Assault Course in aid of RMS- The Royal Marines Charity.

These are world renowned tests and this is the ONLY event where civilians are allowed on this course.

This will be a huge personal challenge for me as I am still finding my way back to fitness post a big injury 2 years ago. Physically the injury has healed but getting mentally back into it has been difficult.

I am hoping this challenge gets me back to the place I was pre injury. I will also have to overcome a massive fear which is being submerged in water. Part of the challenge is being shoved through a tunnel of water in the Sheep Dip exercise!!

All of this is in aid of RMA - The Royal Marines Charity which exists to help the entire Royal Marines family. Offering a range of services to both serving, veterans and their families.

They provide support, advice and friendship to serving and retired Royal Marines, their families, those who aspire to join and those with close links to the Corps.

They are a fantastic charity and very worthy of support.

In the lead up to and during this challenge I hope to embody the Commando Values and Spirit.

Values – Excellence, Integrity, Self Discipline and Humility

Spirit – Courage, Determination, Unselfishness and Cheerfulness

I will certainly need lots of courage to get through the sheep dip!!
