Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

.As many of you know Darren was diagnosed with PKD (polycystic kidney disease) 12 years ago , after testing he was lucky enough to find a live donor match, his wife . On the 13th July 2023,  Darren received the  gift of life from her.Now his son in law Del  and Liam have  decided to give back  and take on the 3 peaks challenge climbing the 3 mountains in 24 hours, Darren will be one of the support drivers and chef for the team of 11. So why the PKD charity, PKD is normally a genetic disease, however Darren was the 1st person in his family to ever have it, so if it’s mutating and anyone can get it at anytime more vital research is needed.   PKD charity is the only charity in the UK solely dedicated to support everyone affected by polycystic kidney desease. They raise awareness and fund research. They need  help to give us hope for the future and make PKD irrelevant and curable.Darren was one of the lucky ones to get a live donor transplant  and a gift of life from his amazing wife, please support this challenge however small or large, all donations are igreatly received..

3.000 per month! Are added to the kidney transplant register.

13 per day die!!!!, so the research into this awful disease is vital.
