I'm running the Hackney Half for War Child! Last year, my best friend forced me to go on a run with her and I absolutely hated it. However, I did realise that I was maybe a little fitter than I thought, so in my usual 'all or nothing' way of thinking, I signed up to run the Hackney Half AND do it for a good cause.

For those of you who know me, you know I've worked at War Child for two and a half years. You'll also know that I'm constantly inspired by the incredible work of my colleagues and equally harrowed by the state of the world and what children in war zones have to go through every day. Right now, almost 1 in 5 children are affected by conflict. With US and UK aid cuts, it's more important to give now than it ever has been.

War Child UK is the only specialist charity dedicated to children affected by conflict. For three decades, War Child has pursued one goal: to ensure no child's life is torn apart by war.

When conflict erupts, War Child is there from the start, staying to support children through their recovery.
