Story
Congo is going through one of the most heartbreaking, yet most ignored, humanitarian crises in the world right now. Millions of people have been forced to flee their homes because of war, violence, and instability. Children are growing up surrounded by fear, hunger, and trauma. Parents are doing everything they can just to keep their kids alive.
It’s honestly hard to sit with that. I haven’t been back to Congo since I was a child—not because I don’t want to, but because it’s not safe. It’s still my home. It’s still my people. And it hurts to watch what’s happening from so far away, especially when most of the world isn’t even paying attention.
So on Sunday July 13th, I’ll be stepping into an MMA cage (yes, a real one—send prayers) to fight. But this fight isn’t just for me—it’s for Congo. I’m using this moment to raise awareness, and to raise money for the Congo Emergency Appeal Fund. None of this goes to me, by the way. I just have to do the punching and try not to get punched too hard in return.
And look—I know times are tough, and not everyone has money to spare. But honestly, even £1 can help. That’s less than your Blank Street iced matcha or even your daily bus ride/ congestion charge. It matters. That £1 could go toward food, clean water, or shelter for someone who’s lost everything. You don’t have to give a lot to make a real difference.
So if you can donate, I’d be insanely grateful. If you can’t, that’s totally okay—please just share this page or talk to someone about what’s happening in Congo. This is really about spreading awareness and making sure these lives aren’t forgotten.
Thank you for reading this far. Thank you for caring.
And wish me luck—because I’ll be fighting with everything I’ve got, for the people who inspire me every day.
This fight is for Congo. Let’s do this together.
