The Oliver Shilton Fund is a Special Named Fund at CCLG: The Children & Young People’s Cancer Association, raising funds for research into Ewing sarcoma.

Story

I'm raising funds for The Oliver Shilton Fund, a Special Named Fund at CCLG: The Children & Young People’s Cancer Association.

My nephew Oliver Shilton passed away on June 8th 2024 from a rare bone cancer, Ewing Sarcoma. Receiving the news of his diagnosis on 22 Nov 2022 was absolutely heartbreaking shattering and life hasn't been the same since. With little research into the treatment of this cancer, unfortunately after his relapse almost a year later, Oliver began trial chemo treatment, which appeared to be working but devastatingly caused secondary Leukemia and we were told he only had weeks to live.

Oliver was a courageous, kind hearted and fun loving child who touched the hearts of many. He was active, taking part in many sports until he began complaining of pains in his legs. His love for sport never ended and his favourite teams showed so much support during his treatment and after his passing.

And so I have decided to complete The Oliver Shilton challenge to raise funds that will go directly to the research of this childhood cancer and others. For the future of others that may receive the diagnosis and to keep his incredible name alive.
