Story

12 challenges 12 months and one big fundraiser!

From September 2023 I am setting off to complete 12 challenges over 12 months in aid of Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF).

Blood cancer is the fifth most common cancer in the UK and the third biggest killer. With my Uncle, Nan and then Dad all being diagnosed with various forms of Leukaemias and Lymphomas over the last few years, I quickly became aware of the charity ELF.

They provide support, medical equipment, upgrades to the hospital bays, counselling, transport and so so much more for those being treated at Exeter's Yarty Ward.

Dad (Tony) has been in and out like a yo yo to Yarty Ward for the last 6 months with some seriously grim chemo and a stem cell transplant and it's lovely to know that charities like ELF exist.

So follow me for 12 months, where I shall take on a new challenge each calender month: from half marathons and hikes, to mountain treks and long distance kayaking. I start off in September tackling the 95 miles of the Jurassic Coast.

Share, support, donate if you can because life is too short and so many people are affected by cancers.

See you on the coast! Jess
