Sleeping rough so others don’t have to❤️
So, here’s the deal: instead of our usual girls night out, nice food and some fancy cocktails, four of us girls are swapping a girls’ night out to sleep rough at Swansea Stadium.
We’re taking part in the Swansea big sleep out to raise money for a local homeless charity that’s doing amazing work right here in Swansea. That means one night, no makeup, no wine, no Uber home — just sleeping bags, stadium seats, and a LOT of layers.
We know we won’t be able to truly understand what it's like to sleep rough, but we want to show our support, raise awareness, and most importantly: raise money to help those who face this reality every night.
So please, if you were going to buy a coffee on your way to work this week — why not throw a few quid our way instead? Your donation will go directly to helping people get off the streets and into safety.
Help us turn one skipped night out into something genuinely life-changing ❤️
Matthew’s House:
Homelessness and rough sleeping are still problems for people in Swansea. The causes are complicated, and the solutions are equally complex. This event will highlight the issues and put a focus on two charities working together to help. It will raise much needed funds and give wonderful volunteer fundraisers a tiny taste of sleeping out in the cold of Autumn. We know this doesn’t compare with the uncertainty and hardship of actual homelessness, but it does help focus the mind, and offers a chance to make a difference by raising funds.
As Thom from Matthews House said, "working together with friends and partners is always better for everyone". So let's work on this together and help 'bring hope to people in need'.
