Story

The Diamond Centre for Disabled Riders provides adults and children who have physical disabilities and / or learning difficulties, the opportunity to participate in horse and pony riding, and carriage driving to promote their social welfare and improve their health and life conditions through training, recreation and rehabilitation.

Each week the Centre provides opportunities for over 350 disabled people to horse ride, carriage drive or vault. They come from schools, adult centres or as individuals, riding weekly in one of the 63 sessions, (lead by fully trained instructors and supported by experienced volunteers), that are carefully graded to the needs and abilities of each rider.

Diamond was set up 50 years ago and is a respected community based charity but receives no government or local authority funding and we rely solely on modest riding fees, donations and fundraising to provide our activities.
