Story
GKT netball are aiming to get GKT sports clubs together for a 10km fun run around London, to raise money for Breast Cancer Now.
In 2024, more than 360,000 people will be diagnosed with breast cancer. When caught in its earliest, localised stages, the 5-year relative survival rate of breast cancer is 99%.*
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. This month, GKT Netball have dedicated October 14th-20th as GKTNC Pink Week, in which we will run fundraising events and celebrate all things pink. Our aim is to spread awareness whilst supporting Breast Cancer Now.
On Sunday 20th October, at 2pm, we will be running a very FUN, silly little 10km to raise money and awareness of a very important cause, for Breast Cancer awareness month. To ensure there is no doubt from the public about what we are running for, please can all participants wear lots of pink clothing - pink wigs and tutus are also strongly encouraged ;)
Entry is minimum £2 per person but larger donations are greatly appreciated; we urge you to share the Just Giving link with your friends, families and on your social media pages.
Stay tuned for more information closer to the day!
Our players will be sporting pink ribbons at matches and training all month to prompt the all important conversations surrounding this month and checking your breasts.
