Together with our members, we at KCLSU are a union of students where individuals connect, have fun, build communities, share experiences, and make change.

Story

GKT MSA are fundraising for two charities this year! Most of this will be done via communities week in January 2024 however we hope to organise various events throughout the academic year to support this cause. Please read below to find out about some of the amazing work these charities do and how you can help!

Evelina London Children's Charity

Evelina London is part of St Thomas hospital, in Westminster and it has 4 main aims:

1) Compassionate trailblazing care (making patients feel more at home)

2) Leaps in innovation (investing in new technology to better patient experience)

3) Supporting the team (investing in health and wellbeing of staff)

4) Exploring new approaches (investing in new technology to better patient experience)

Overall, the charity aims to improve the experience that young people have in hospital, which can be a daunting place for many.

Water Aid

Within Water Aid there are many subdivisions which will allow any fundraising to have a greater impact. They operate in several countries and alongside fundraising, they provide education to target countries which is investing in its people and leads to sustainability. By improving access to water, a basic human right, Water Aid is helping to reduce infection and disease in babies and children and overall providing an effective health intervention to a long existing issue.

For every £1 donated to Water Aid, 76p goes to delivering services and making change happen and 24p goes to fundraising and governance.

The money that GKT MSA fundraise this academic year will be split in half and given to both the charities!
