We share our lives with cats. They bring happiness to millions of us every day. Yet too many cats don’t get the care and kindness they deserve. At Cats Protection we stand up for every cat to make life better for cats and the people who care for them.

Story

Meet Annie.

Our new foster comes into care with a sad background story. On Thursday 8th January we received a call from concerned staff at Dalmuir Train Station.  A kitten had been left, in her carrier, on the 08.25 Helensburgh to Edinburgh train.  Concerned members of the public took the cat, now named Annie, to the station office at Dalmuir where staff quickly sprung into action to try and locate Annie's owner.

Sadly, after multiple media posts nobody came forward.  Rest assured our volunteer took Annie into care where she, initially shocked, is settling into life with her lovely foster family.  Although she’s only been in our care for a short while, she has shown what a loving little cat she is.  She loves to play and is enjoying nothing more than cuddling up and purring with her foster dad.  We will give Annie the very best of care and attention, for however long she needs us.

We estimate Annie is around 6 months old and in good condition health wise.  She will be given a check up by our vets and will eventually be neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before we find her a lovely new family.

Glasgow Cats Protection Branch are a team run entirely by volunteers. They give up their time, knowledge, homes and hearts to help cats like Annie.  They do it simply for the love of cats.  The cost of everything from food and litter, toys, and vet fees is paid for by donations by people like you, who share our love of cats.  Vet fees increase all the time.  An initial consultation for Annie costs £45.  Flea and wormer treatments cost £10.  Neutering in the region of £100.

Can you help with the cost of these treatments for Annie and other strays like her?  We understand that times are difficult, but even a donation of £2 can really make a difference to cats throughout Glasgow. Please consider donating to Annie's fund. This girl has truly captured hearts across the country.

Thank you.
