Story

As many of you may know, I was diagnosed with bowel cancer in July 2025. Over the past year, I have been through two different types of chemotherapy, targeted therapy, time on a clinical trial, and a robotic-assisted operation to remove the tumour and a large part of my colon. My last treatment was 8 weeks ago, and I am so grateful to say that I am now in remission.

While I was going through treatment, I secured a place in the Great North Run 2026 half marathon, taking place tomorrow, 13 September 2026, as something positive to focus on and look forward to. I left this fundraising page until the last minute because I was not sure I would make the start line, so I am creating it now while on the way up to Newcastle.

I have chosen to raise money for Bowel Cancer UK because its work is deeply connected to my own journey. Every day, it helps fund vital research, support patients and families, and campaign for earlier diagnosis and better treatment. That support matters, because every step forward brings us closer to a future where fewer people are affected by bowel cancer.

I am aiming to raise £1,000, and I would be incredibly grateful for any support you can give. Whether your donation is small or large, it will help make a real difference. Please consider donating and sharing this page to help support Bowel Cancer UK and the important work it does for everyone affected by bowel cancer.
