One week ago we heard that a beloved member of the Global Funk Fam community had passed away. You may have known her as calxtras_cafe, Carol or even THAT PERSON WHO USES CAPS AND ASKS DJS TO WAVE... whatever it was, if you've been a regular in any of our Twitch streams you definitely knew her. Carol was a big part of the GFF and she will be very much missed.

Carol battled health challenges and wasn't very mobile. Many members of the Fam supported her in many different ways, phoning and popping in and once Laura_luna_tic borrowed a wheelchair to get her out to meet some of us Fam in a local park. Carol was so happy that day.

In particular DJ Bones, pictured here with Carol giving us a wave, lived in the same town as her and he began calling in on her and running errands. We know he made a huge difference to Carol's life and meant a lot to her. Bones' selfless kindness is an example to us all.

Tonic Music for Mental Health is a charity based in Portsmouth, on the south coast of England where Carol lived. Tonic offer tailored mental health training and support for artists, crew, industry professionals and music fans.

Our hearts to go out to all Carol's friends and her brother, and we hope you will be able join us on Twitch for an online celebration of her life on Saturday, 22 March from 10am.
