Glow Together: Light-Up PEDS Friends Walk · 1 November 2025

Annually over 1.6 million people in the UK are estimated to be directly affected by eating disorders. Our referrals have grown from 15 sufferers to over 70 per month since the Covid-19 pandemic began. PEDS (Personalised Eating Disorder Support) has treated over 200 sufferers in the last year. Our mission is to provide nurse led, personalised eating disorder support to help the sufferer manage their eating disorder. To build a life to get well for which is not controlled by their illness. We equip carers and families with the tools to be able to support their loved ones. Whilst we understand the importance of hope, we also acknowledge the realities of the challenge when fighting eating disorders. In sharing our determination, passion and skills, we help strengthen our sufferers, their loved ones and the professionals we work alongside. Let's win the battle against eating disorders. Service User Story PEDS made me realise what was happening to me, they showed me that there was a light at the end of the really gloomy tunnel! I had weekly blood tests, weigh in’s, meetings with PEDS and adult mental health services. It was a whirlwind away from what I had been used to! I honestly couldn’t have done it without PEDS.

Event Time: 4:30pm-6:30pm

Walk Start : 5pm - meet by Ferry Meadows Cafe - Lakeside Kitchen and Bar

Theme: Light-Up: Glow sticks , battery operated lights etc

Personalised Eating Disorder Support (PEDS) is a small Peterborough charity with a huge impact on eating disorders afield in Cambridgeshire, we are continuously growing and spreading awareness in our region. We help individuals and families affected by eating disorders by providing 1:1 and group sessions delivered by our clinicians, face-to-face and remotely using combined techniques with a personalised approach. Our mission is to offer nurse-led personalised eating disorder support to help sufferers to manage their eating and “Build a life to get well for” that is not controlled by their illness.
