The mountain rescue volunteers have proudly supported the Fire & Rescue Service in protecting our local landscapes. Teams have contributed thousands of hours to date using their local knowledge, specialist vehicles and equipment to remote areas, provide invaluable welfare support and help keep crews where they were needed most.

These fires were a serious threat to our Moorland, wildlife and surrounding communities. By working alongside fire crews, they have helped increase the resources available on the ground and played a part in limiting the impact of the fire.

It's all down hill from here is a local Peak District walking group who would like to give back and help boost donations to these brilliant volunteering services.

On Saturday 19th September we aim to complete a 50 mile challenge walk circling Bakewell, quite a large circle actually.

We’re asking for donations, however large or small. Anything to support these teams would be gratefully appreciated.

We need these people and their time to help fight Moorland fires and attend accidents. Let's give back.
