Over 75,000 young people in the UK rely on wheelchairs to get around, yet many struggle to access the right equipment through local services. Whizz Kidz is stepping up for all of them. As the UK’s leading charity supporting young wheelchair users up to 25 years old, Whizz Kidz provides essential equipment, support, and confidence-building experiences that empower these young people to fully participate in society.

The impact is clear—just look at the smiles on their faces when they receive mobility aids that truly change their lives. On Sunday, 26th April 2026, I will join over 56,000 runners tackling the iconic London Marathon once again. This will be my 21st time running this incredible race (19th consecutive), all in support of Whizz Kidz.

Despite setbacks like a severe chest infection that sidelined my training for five weeks, I’m determined to get to the start line albeit with just seven weeks of training. My goal? Yet again, to break the sub-4-hour barrier on London’s streets—a challenge I’ve chased since my first marathon in 2001. While I managed it virtually in 2020 with a time of 3 hours and 57 minutes, nothing compares to crossing that finish line in London, in sub 4 hours.
