Story
Silence is golden. And good for charity!
On Thursday 23 November, the employees of GMcG Chartered Accountants will behold an utterly unique and surreal experience – the sweet sound of silence emanating from the offices of directors Gabriel Greene, Stephen Houston, Nigel Moore, Robbie Milliken and Paul Black. Our male director team was tasked with taking on a challenge to raise funds for the firm’s 2023 charity partner, Air Ambulance NI, and a 24-hour sponsored silence was agreed. There can be no mistaking the enormity of this task. If you know the directors, you will definitely agree!
Needless to say, all staff across their respective departments are very much looking forward to 23 November. The five directors will be in the office and will conduct their usual daily business in complete silence – email communication only! Starting at 9am, the silence will continue right through their evenings and will finish at 9am on Friday 24th. We are delighted with the generous donation already received from Gabriel’s wife Sharon, but sadly we had to ignore her lobbying to have the silence extended to one full week.
Why not show your support to our team and for this fantastic local charity?
Should there be any 'silence lapses', our charity partner will benefit even further through each director’s lapse jar! £10 on the spot penalties will be strictly applied! Who has the most willpower? Whose jar is likely to fill up first? Comment below with your thoughts!!
GMcG is delighted to support Air Ambulance NI with our 2023 fundraising activities. Air Ambulance NI, in partnership with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, provides the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service for the region and responds to seriously ill or injured patients, 12 hours a day, 7 days per week. Air Ambulance NI is a vital service for Northern Ireland, with a helicopter that can get to any location in Northern Ireland in approximately 25 minutes. The doctor and paramedic team bring pre-hospital emergency care across Northern Ireland that might just save your life, or that of your loved ones. The Charity relies entirely on support from the public and local businesses.
