Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by young sudden cardiac death (YSCD). We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.

Story

In 2022, one of our weekly 6-a-side players Ed Cooper suffered from an unexpected cardiac arrest. Ed is back playing football with us and will be taking part in a charity game this March, alongside the other players present on the night of the incident and other past teammates and friends.

This year’s game we are raising money for a brilliant charity: ‘Cardiac Risk in the Young’

Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions.

With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young.

By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions.

On the 9th March at 3pm, we will be hosting a Goals Aloud Charity Football Game. We hosted the first 11-a-side game in 2023, and hope to continue to do so each year, to help raise money for charities relevant to young people who love taking part in sport.
