Introduction
Homelessness is a critical issue affecting many individuals and families, leaving them exposed to harsh weather conditions, health risks, and insecurity. Our project, Safe Shelter Initiative, aims to provide affordable, safe, and dignified housing for vulnerable communities in Nairobi and beyond.
Through JustGiving.com, we seek to raise funds to construct durable, cost-effective homes that will transform lives and provide stability to those in need.
Project Goals and Objectives
1. Build Safe Homes: Construct quality, affordable housing for homeless individuals and families.
2. Promote Sustainable Living: Use eco-friendly and cost-effective materials for construction.
3. Empower Communities: Provide employment opportunities in construction, plumbing, and welding.
4. Enhance Livelihoods: Improve living conditions and support self-sufficiency through housing.
Scope of the Project
Phase 1: Identify and acquire land for construction.
Phase 2: Design and construct at least 10 homes in the first phase.
Phase 3: Furnish homes with basic necessities.
Phase 4: Support families in settling and maintaining their homes.
Target Beneficiaries
Homeless individuals and families.
Low-income earners struggling with housing.
Vulnerable groups, including orphans, the elderly, and single mothers.
Budget Estimate
We aim to raise $200,000 to cover:
Land acquisition: $50,000
Construction materials: $80,000
Labor and skilled workers: $40,000
Utilities and furnishing: $20,000
Miscellaneous and contingency: $10,000
