Story

The Godstone Sports association is bringing sport back to Godstone Green and we need your help.

Our first target is to raise £10,000 to support football on the green. We aim to improve the football pitches for use by a new Godstone first team, local youth teams, the Godstone Vets and Godstone Primary and Nursery school. We will also be allocating funds to improve the Sports Pavilion.

There are lots of grants available to support sport and community projects in the UK. Many require up to 50% of funding to be in place before applying. So the more we raise ourselves the more we can ask for from others.

About the Godstone Sports Association - The GSA began in the 1970s to support the sports clubs associated with the Godstone Club; Bowls, Cricket, Football, Table Tennis, Tennis and more. Many of our clubs have more than 100 years of history behind them. In 1984 we constructed the Sports Pavilion on the Green and for many years Godstone Cricket and Football teams used it as their base. In recent years as life became more complicated and despite strong enthusiasm, our clubs that use the Green have found it more difficult to support themselves.

Today the GSA is reformed with a new passionate committee, determined to see all our clubs thriving again and the Godstone Club serving our sporting members to the fullest.

Please give generously to help us bring Football back and watch out for news on our plan for Cricket later in the year.
