Godstowe Boarders Swim The Channel · 25 June 2023

I Can & I Am launched their first bus in 2021. The success of this format to assist with young people's mental health has lead to a requirement for a second bus. This campaign will contribute to the refurbishment and get the next bus on the road!

Story

As a school, we have a close relationship with the charity I Can & I Am and their founder James Shone. James is the brother of one of our staff members and has visited Godstowe a number of times, speaking to our girls about how to live a fulfilled life, fuelled by self-belief. The charity offer tools and inspiration to move forward with a sense of purpose, and a feeling of 'I can achieve' and 'I am of value'. Two years ago, they were donated a fully converted double decker bus by the company Howdens. They now visit schools around the South West of England and have worked with over 8,000 young people.

To enable the charity to continue this great work, we’re helping them to raise the funds to cover the costs of a 2nd bus so that they can take their messages even wider.

On Sunday 25th June, our Boarders, and some Godstowe staff members, will be swimming the length of the English Channel in our very own pool.
