Team AMF Goggins 4x4x48 Challenge 2024

For the fouth year running we are raising funds for The Amelia-Mae Foundation an amazing charity who provide continual support to sufferers of Neuroblastoma an aggresive form of childhood cancer which in most cases is life thretening. We hope to raise a considerable amount of funds to make a difference as well as raising awareness of the disease and the amazing work this charity does ❤.

Over the last 3 years of doing this challenge we have managed to raise over £14,000 towards the charity with £7,000 raised alone last year. The challenge is gaining popularity year on year so we hope to smash this total again this year 💪.

Similar to last year we have teamed up with Viking Prints to create the challenge t-shirts and the sponsors banners, we will also have medals this year to celebrate the achievement.

THE CHALLENGE

Starting at 8pm on Friday 1st March we as a team will run 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours. This challenge was create by ex navy seal David Goggins during covid to encourage people to get outside and push themselves to their limits. Totaling 48 miles over the weekend this will give everyone the achievement of completing an ultra marathon challenge. This challenge is completed all over the world now as a test of physical and mental endurance.

One of the great things about the 4x4x48 challenge is its accessibility. There are no prizes for being the quickest over each run. You can run, walk or even cycle if you wish. But dont make the mistake of thinking it is easy, its not!. You will find it both tough mentally and physcially and you need to be prepared for that. But then thats why its a challenge! Each run will be completed as a team so there will always be people to run with, to give you support and motivation.

We will be running to raise funds for The Amelia Mae Foundation's who have a mission to support families affected by Neuroblastoma, whilst publicly raising awareness of the condition.

I've seen first hand what a little bit of money can do for these families and children, they really appreciate the financial support whether it be to support costs involved with the therapy, family outings or home necessities which make it a much more bearable experience. For me just seeing a smile on their faces, is the only reward I need for going through the pain of this challenge as its nothing like what they go through.
