On 15 May, we’ll be taking on a challenge like no other in support of Alder Hey Children’s Charity - a cause that meant a great deal to the late, great, John Hales.

We’re stepping onto the iconic course at Aintree Racecourse for a light-hearted (and slightly chaotic) Mascot Grand National which is sponsored by Golden Bear in John’s memory. Think big costumes, plenty of laughs, a few hurdles along the way… and a lot of determination to make it to the finish line.

What makes this even more special is the setting. Aintree is where John’s legendary horse, Neptune Collonges, won the Grand National in 2012. For his team at Golden Bear – another of his great passions, bringing joy to children through toys – it feels incredibly fitting to be at Aintree, honouring his memory in such a meaningful and fun way.

This event is about more than just fun. It’s about coming together to support an incredible charity that changes the lives of children and families every single day. It’s also a chance to celebrate John’s legacy in a way that reflects his passion, energy and generosity.
