Story
The Good Warner ride for Wendy.
Hi I'm Peter and with the help of my wife Jo, I am taking on the huge task of cycling 1029 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats to raise money for two charities close to our hearts and families. I shall be doing the cycling on 'Billy two wheels' my bike and Jo has taken on the role of support, travelling along in ‘Happy’ our camper van.
Alzheimer’s Society
We are raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society, in memory of my mother Betty and my father-in-law Brian, who both lived with dementia in the later part of their lives. The Alzheimer’s Society provides essential support to families who are experiencing the devastating effect which this disease has on their loved ones and their families.
St Helena Hospice.
This ride is also in memory of Wendy, my sister-in-law, who spent the final weeks of her life in the care and support of the outstanding staff and friends at St Helena Hospice in Colchester. Wendy, a wonderful wife, mother, nanna, daughter, sister and friend was taken from her family, at the age of 58, after courageously fighting bowel cancer for over three years.
The St Helena hospice provides an exceptional quality of care and comfort completely focused on the patient, alongside attending to their emotional and spiritual needs, and rely solely on charitable donations.
This is one ride for two charities, and we hope to provide an equal amount to each charity, so we thank you for sharing your donation or keeping the two totals in balance. We really appreciate your support, and your kindness will keep our pedals turning through the motivation of you giving.
Closer to the ride we will share our Instagram page here in order that we can keep you updated on our progress!
