Story
On Friday 26 June, the Goodwood staff and Health Club membership will take on a one-day cycling challenge to raise funds for PLANETS Cancer Charity, based at Southampton Hospital.
Across 15 hours, colleagues and members will ride in relay on stationary bikes to collectively cycle the distance from London to Paris and back as many times as possible. The aim is simple: to turn miles into meaningful support for people living with pancreatic, liver, colorectal, gastric, oesophageal and neuroendocrine cancers.
This challenge is especially close to home. Our colleague James Thorpe was diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer in 2025. While this means learning to live with cancer long-term, PLANETS has provided vital care, guidance and support for him and his family during an incredibly difficult time.
We are fundraising in solidarity with PLANETS’ own London to Paris cycle ride taking place later this year, where doctors, consultants and patients will ride to raise essential funds for the charity’s work.
Every donation will help PLANETS continue funding specialist patient support, treatment and research for some of the most complex and underfunded cancers.
